MConstruct undertook the comprehensive design and build of a Kutchenhaus showroom in Hampstead Garden Suburb, transforming a former Barclays bank property into a modern and functional space for Europe’s largest manufacturer of kitchens.
The project encompassed a range of services, including mechanical and electrical packages, drylining, screeding, windows and door replacement, tiling, decorations, and the fitting of multiple displays. Additionally, external decorations to the front elevation were carried out, providing a complete facelift to the property.
The project had a soft start in mid-August to prepare the property, with the majority of the work concentrated in early September. The fit-out was completed by December, ensuring the showroom was ready for its grand opening that month.

Challenges

The property’s unique history as a former Barclays bank presented challenges, particularly with the presence of two substantial vaults. These had to be removed and a new roof installed on the rear section before the fit-out. Overcoming these challenges was crucial ni achieving the desired transformation of the space.

Key Deliverables

MConstruct delivered a range of services to bring the Kutchenhaus showroom to life. This included the installation of displays featuring four kitchens, two workstations, one utility room, one sample wall, and a bathroom – all fully functional and aesthetically appealing. The external decorations to the front elevation enhanced the showroom’s curb appeal, creating an inviting atmosphere for customers.

Innovation in Lighting

MConstruct played a pivotal role in revolutionising the showroom by implementing an energy-efficient LED lighting system. The use of a KNX Smart Home System allows for complete remote control through the Basalte mobile app, Basalte Ellie Touch Screen and GIRA keypads. This system not only provides flexibility in adjusting the lighting but also allows for temperature control and monitoring, audio-visual integration, access and security, energy monitoring and energy saving – all under just one mobile app!
The successful completion of this project showcases our commitment to delivering comprehensive design and build solutions. Overcoming challenges posed by the property’s history, we transformed the space into a modern, functional, and aesthetically pleasing showroom. The integration of innovative lighting systems further adds to the showroom’s appeal, providing both energy efficiency and visual impact.
